What you wear at Salar de Uyuni depends on the season and the conditions during your visit. During the rainy season from January to March, waterproof shoes and quick-drying clothing are useful because sections of the salt flats can be covered by a thin layer of water. Nights can still be very cold, so warm layers remain important. In the dry season from May to October, pack thermal layers, sun protection, and clothing that can handle dusty conditions. Regardless of the season, bring warm clothing, sunglasses, and strong sun protection for the intense high-altitude sunlight.
